As Mayor of Paducah, she has also been instrumental in expanding the smoke-free ordinance and in working to bring the “Blue Zones” project of improving community health to Paducah. The project was highlighted at the KMA Annual Meeting in 2016 with a presentation by Blue Zones Project Manager Tony Buettner.
“Mayor Harless has certainly led the way among local leaders to ensure that her community lives healthier, longer lives,” said KMA Past President Maurice Oakley, M.D.
