Last evening’s premiere of “Prescription for Health: A KET Forum” provided an outlet for conversation between physicians, policy makers and public health officials regarding some of Kentucky’s most pressing health issues.
Hosted by Emmy award-winning Connections host Renee Shaw as well as Kentucky Physicians Leadership Institute graduate and Kentucky Health host Wayne Tuckson, M.D., attendees became part of the conversation on topics including smoking, diabetes and opioids. KMA Immediate Past President Bruce Scott, M.D. and KMA Vice Speaker Monalisa Tailor, M.D. served on the panel with Fred Williams, M.D., Erica R.H. Sutton, M.D., and Pat Purcell, M.D., contributing from the audience.
KMA has created a downloadable handout that provides additional information on these topics for physicians to share with their patients.
As mentioned during the forum, KMA’s AIM for Better Care website allows for both physicians and patients to submit their stories encountering barriers to care for these and other key health issues.
