KMA Capitol Rounds gives member physicians the opportunity to put their leadership and advocacy skills into practice by spending a few hours in Frankfort advocating for issues that matter to Kentucky physicians and their patients.
Choose a date that works with your schedule, come to Frankfort and meet directly with your legislators. KMA will equip you with talking points and handouts to help you feel prepared and make the most of your visit.
Capitol Rounds is an opportunity to move beyond learning about advocacy and experience it firsthand, building confidence, developing relationships with legislators and bringing the physician perspective directly to the people shaping healthcare policy in Kentucky.
Participating physicians are responsible for scheduling their own meetings with legislators during their visit. Legislator contact information is available through the Kentucky General Assembly website or by calling the Legislative Research Commission at 502-564-8100. This program will be a continuous daily opportunity for KMA members throughout the 30-day legislative session. It is a separate advocacy opportunity from and does not replace KMA’s Physicians’ Day at the Capitol, which will be held on Wednesday, Feb. 17. Access a parking map here.
