“Small STEPS, Big Impact” Featured During KHSAA Sweet 16 Tournament

Campaign Also Garners Statewide Media Attention

This weekend, nearly 100,000 basketball fans will be encouraged to make small changes to their health during the 2025 KHSAA Boy’s Sweet 16 Basketball Tournament, thanks to a public service announcement (PSA) from the KMA and KFMC’s “Small STEPS, Big Impact” campaign.

The campaign will be featured in a thirty-second advertisement during the tournament, held at Rupp Arena. The PSA includes several members of the Small STEPS Physician Ambassador program, as well as KMA President Evelyn Montgomery Jones, M.D., and will be shown during each game, which typically draws a total of nearly 100,000 fans. In addition, the ad will receive a thirty-second “non-skippable” pre-roll impression, meaning that anyone who tunes in to the broadcast remotely will be required to view the advertisement without the ability to “skip” it.

The campaign has also been busy with media engagements. Dr. Montgomery Jones recently taped an episode of KET’s Kentucky Health with Dr. Wayne Tuckson, scheduled to air on May 4. She was also invited on the Lexington-based morning show, Live From Chevy Chase on Fox56, where she discussed National Nutrition Month and small changes viewers can make to everyday food choices that can add up to a big improvement in their health.
