Dear KMA Members,
After five years of dedicated advocacy, the Kentucky Medical Association is pleased to share that our legislative priority of prior authorization reform (HB 176) has successfully passed the General Assembly.
We extend our sincere gratitude to Representative Kim Moser for her steadfast leadership and commitment to this issue. Her tireless efforts have been instrumental in advancing these meaningful reforms and reporting requirements related to the prior authorization process that will soon be implemented.
We also thank the legislative leaders and stakeholders who worked with us to achieve this outcome. Their willingness to engage and work toward a common goal made this success possible.
Most importantly, we thank YOU, our KMA members, for your continued advocacy and outreach. Your voices played a critical role in reaching this milestone.
As we move forward, we now turn our attention to the Governor’s office and respectfully encourage his signature on House Bill 176.
Jiapeng Huang, M.D.
KMA President
