KMA Advocates for Access to Obesity Care During Southern Legislative Conference; Featured on WKYT

On July 14, KMA Deputy Executive Vice President and Director of Advocacy Cory Meadows was interviewed by WKYT-TV during the 2026 Southern Legislative Conference after serving as a featured panelist for “Obesity Care at a Crossroads: State Policy Choices That Shape Health, Budgets, and Workforce,” sponsored by Eli Lilly and Company.

During the discussion, Meadows emphasized that decisions about obesity care should remain between physicians and their patients, and highlighted the importance of expanding access to evidence-based treatment. Ensuring patients have access to the care they need remains a key advocacy priority for the KMA.
