Aetna Better Health of Kentucky Claims Update

The Kentucky Medical Association met with representatives of Aetna Better Health of Kentucky on Friday April 8, 2016, to discuss several issues.

No further action is required from physicians for claims previously denied involving allergy, immunization codes, and several other codes currently being reprocessed.  Expect payment the end of April.  Any clean claims that take longer than 30 days to process will be paid with interest.  Claims that do not meet the clean claim standard are those that have been rejected as missing or invalid.

Physicians experiencing rejections due to taxonomy codes should contact their clearinghouse to ensure they are providing all the required information to Aetna.  You may also contact KMA at for assistance.
