The Kentucky Department for Public Health has released a health alert regarding the surge of pediatric flu cases across the state, and is urging providers to encourage vaccination among patients in the coming weeks.
Six Kentucky children have died from influenza since late November, including three in the last week. This equals the most pediatric flu deaths ever reported in a single flu season (2019-2020).
