Nearly 100 Physicians Attend KMA’s 2024 Physicians’ Day at the Capitol

Physicians from across the state gathered in Frankfort yesterday for KMA’s annual Physicians’ Day at the Capitol to advocate for policies impacting their practices and patients.

This year, KMA physicians united around communicating the importance of reform to the prior authorization process.

“The current prior authorization process leads to delays for patients, administrative burdens for physicians, and increased costs,” said KMA President Michael Kuduk, M.D. “It’s time for us to pass a common-sense solution that doesn’t harm our patients or overburden our healthcare system.”

KMA members met with their legislators and received positive feedback on House Bill 317, much of which was shared during the legislative recap, which followed the morning’s events at the Capital Plaza Hotel.

The event was covered by Spectrum News 1, with Dr. Kuduk giving an interview on the importance of prior authorization. That piece ran hourly on the station from 5-11 p.m.
