Breathe Better Kentucky Presents “COVID Recovery in Rural Communities: Unpacking Lessons in Disparities from the Pandemic”

The Breathe Better Kentucky campaign, sponsored by KMA, the Kentucky Foundation for Medical Care (KFMC) and the Anthem Foundation, will present an hour-long virtual CME opportunity on Sept. 1 at 11 a.m. ET, “COVID Recovery in Rural Communities: Unpacking Lessons in Disparities from the Pandemic.”

COVID-19 presented challenges for every community, and Kentucky’s rural areas were no different. Join KMA and UK Good Samaritan Hospital Chief Medical Officer Ashley Montgomery-Yates, M.D., for a discussion on the lessons learned during the pandemic and how we can improve care for rural patients.

Dr. Ashley Montgomery-Yates, FCCM, is the Chief Medical Officer for UK Good Samaritan Hospital and an associate professor in the Department of Internal Medicine, Division of Pulmonary, Critical Care and Sleep Medicine at the University of Kentucky College of Medicine. She has held several leadership and supporting roles at UK HealthCare, including leading the COVID-19 response committee and was instrumental in the establishment of the UK COVID Vaccine center.

The session will be moderated by KMA President-Elect Monalisa Tailor, M.D. Registration is now open and available here.
